Muztagh Ata was climbed in 1956 by Sino-Russian expedition. The first ski ascent was made to this mountain in 1980 by an American expedition. Muztagh Ata lies in the Sinkiang Province of China. Muztag-Ata is an isolated massif rising from the western end of the Takla Makan Desert in the Xinjiang Province of China. It lays in the hub of the great mountain ranges of Asia, with the Karakorum to the south, the Pamir to the west and the Kun Lun and Tien-Shan to the north.
At 7546 m. Muztag-Ata is perhaps the highest ski-able mountain in the worldAny person having Ski experience can made a life time ascent to this beautiful mountain. A previous mountain experience is recommended ( use of rope, ice axe etc ). Ski pair, with regular climbing equipment are reIquire to climb this mountain. Itinerary
DAY 01 ARRIVAL RAWALPINDI / ISLAMABAD/ CHILAS
Upon arrival met and drive to Chilas. 12 hours drive.
Overnight in hotel
DAY 02 CHILAS/SUST
Drive to Sust boarder about 07 hours.
Overnight PTDC hotel.
DAY 03 SOST / RESERVE DAY
Reserve day in case, member want to stay first night in Rawalpindi.
DAY 04 SUST / TASHKURGAN
Drive via Khunjerab Pass to China and meet the group and transfer to hotel.
DAY 05 KARAKUL LAKE
Drive for about 100 km to Karakul Lake at an altitude of 3600 m, overnight Karkul Yurt.
DAY 06 SUBASH VILLAGE / AND TO BASE CAMP
Drive about 20 km to Subash Village and meet your camels and trek 5 hours to the base of Muztagh Ata at an altitude of 4350m, Overnight in tents.
DAY 07 TO DAY 22 CLIMBING
Climbing start towards Summit. Length of Climbing period depends on weather, fitness, and experience of the climber.
DAY 23 TREKKING BACK TO SUBASH VILLAGE / KASHGAR
After an early breakfast leave the Muztagh Ata Peak base camp and we will trek down to Subash village in four hours on camels back where transport is waiting for us to take you to Kashgar for another 5 hours drive. Overnight hotel.
DAY 24 KASHGAR SIGHTSEEING
Full day sightseeing in Kashgar. Overnight in Kashgar hotel.
DAY 25 TASHKURGAN
Drive 300 km to Tashkurgan. Overnight Pamir hotel..
DAY 26 TASHKURGAN / SUST / KARIMABAD
After an early breakfast leave China by road via Khunjerab Pass. Arrival at Sust meet with Pakistan staff and transport and drive to Karimabad, Hunza. Overnight in hotel.
DAY 27 KARIMABAD / CHILAS
After an early breakfast drive to Chilas. Overnight hotel.
DAY 28 CHILAS / ISLAMABAD
After an early breakfast drive to Islamabad for about 12 hours. Overnight hotel.
DAY 29 RAWALPINDI / ISLAMABAD
Free day for sightseeing and shoping. Overnight hotel.
DAY 30 FLY BACK HOME
Transfer to airport for your onward flight.
