Masherbrum (K1) – A Majestic Karakoram Peak
Masherbrum, with an elevation of 7,821 meters (25,659 feet), is one of the most iconic peaks in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan. Known as the 22nd highest mountain globally and the 9th highest in Pakistan, it is a spectacular blend of rock and ice.

Key Highlights
Historical Significance: The British survey team referred to Masherbrum as K1 in 1856.
Stunning Appearance: The summit features a dramatic vertical north face, resembling a pyramid with sharp, narrow ridges.
Climbing Milestone: In 1960, George Bell and Willie Unsoeld, part of the American-Pakistani expedition, were the first to successfully summit Masherbrum.
Approach Route: Trekkers usually start the approach to Gasherbrum Base Camp from Skardu, with the trek itself commencing at Hushe village on the Masherbrum Glacier.

  • Day 1: Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Transfer to hotel. Evening briefing at Alpine Club of Pakistan. Overnight in hotel.
  • Day 2: Islamabad to Chilas via Babusar Top & Kaghan Valley. Overnight in hotel.
  • Day 3: Chilas to Skardu (22–24 hrs drive). Overnight in hotel.
  • Day 4: Skardu – final arrangements for Masherbrum Expedition.
  • Day 5: Skardu to Hushe Village. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 6: Hushe to Brumbrama. Porters join. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 7: Brumbrama to Masherbrum Base Camp. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 8 – 40: Climbing days towards Masherbrum Summit (weather, fitness & experience dependent).
  • Day 41: Masherbrum Base Camp to Hushe. Overnight in tents.
  • Day 42: Hushe to Skardu by jeep trail. Overnight in hotel.
  • Day 43: Skardu to Islamabad (by flight, or by road if weather prevents flying). Overnight in hotel.
  • Day 44: Kaghan to Islamabad (if by road). Overnight in hotel.
  • Day 45: De-briefing at Alpine Club of Pakistan, Islamabad. Transfer to airport for onward destination. End of services.

Route: Islamabad → Chilas → Skardu → Hushe → Parbisan → Brumbrummah → Masherbrum Base Camp → return via Hushe → Skardu → Chilas → Islamabad
